Castlemain Mill Holiday Cottages
Castlemain Mill and The Cottages sit on the edge of Parkend a few paces away from the forest itself. The original house dates from the early 1800’s originally as the air and water pump machine room for the Castlemain Colliery. The cottages were originally stables and converted into Holiday Lets in 2013. In the grounds is a mediteranean style terracing built by Italian PoWs

Rachel and Neil (and Charlie and Amber) are new to the area but have been amazed at how welcoming the “Voresters” are. We imagine that’s because life in the forest is definitely at a slower pace than we are used to and everyone seems chilled and happy. Still can’t get over seeing the sheep wonder down the road though.
